Resonant is led by Dr. Brian Falkenhainer, who founded the company after years of working with major financial services firms and questioning why manual processes dominated so many critical functions. Brian’s original research, primarily while at Xerox PARC, led to the technical breakthroughs underlying Resonant’s products. Brian serves on Resonant’s Board of Directors and has over 20 years of leadership experience in commercial software, knowledge management, and process improvement. He has managed several successful start-up businesses from concept through launch, including DocuShare, Xerox’ flagship document management product line. He holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Santa Clara University and M.S. / Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

byrnePatrick_grayPatrick Byrne, Vice President of Business Development

Patrick Byrne has over 20 years’ experience selling mission critical software applications to the insurance industry, most recently with Accenture. Mr. Byrne has been instrumental in the success of multiple software vendors from early stage to acquisition as the vice president of sales. Some of these vendors include The Leverage Group (Life Insurance administration system vendor) sold to Policy Management Services Corporation in 1998 and Systems Engineering Group (Life Insurance administration system vendor) sold to MajescoMastek in 2010.

Ernie Testa leads Resonant’s efforts in the life insurance industry. He has an extensive background in New Business and Underwriting policy making, product development, operational management and business process design.  Mr. Testa has held positions as Chief Underwriter and Chief Operations Officer with The Prudential Life Insurance of America and served as President of AHOU, a leading insurance underwriting professional management organization. Ernie holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State), is an Associate of the Health Insurance Association of America, holds a Certificate of Proficiency from the Academy of Life Underwriting, and has written extensively on a variety of industry topics.

samuelsWilliamWilliam C. Samuels, Director and Chairman of Carlyle Capital Group

Mr. Samuels is a well-known entrepreneur and innovator in the development of unique technologies from start up to exit. As Chairman and CEO of ACTV, Inc., a digital media company, he brought a startup thru an initial public offering, a second offering for $130 million, and an eventual sale to an affiliate of Liberty Media in 2003. Prior to ACTV, he founded a training company that he merged into the Alexander Proudfoot Company, a world-wide technology and productivity consulting company that was also brought public in London. Mr. Samuels is Managing Member of Carlyle Capital Group, a private equity firm and largest shareholder of Resonant Software. He has a B.S. in Engineering, Economics and Political Science from MIT and holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
